The advent of the World Freedom Bell presents an interesting research project for an acoustic study of the bell.  Given the capital investment in the bell, the physical condition of the bell should be monitored so as to prevent damage or failure.  It is proposed that a team of students investigate the construction of the bell, as related to its acoustic spectrum.  Acoustic spectrums would be collected at regular intervals, perhaps identifying changes that might foretell mechanical stress or premature aging of the bell.  This non-destructive analysis might well be a valuable tool in forecasting problems
